Prime Minister of The Bahamas highlights importance of Cuban collaboration in Education sector

THE BAHAMAS, July 1, 2016. - Yesterday afternoon, at the residence of the Ambassador of Cuba to The Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, held an activity to bid farewell to the 11 Cuban teachers who completed their mission in this Caribbean country.

On this occasion, the activity was attended by the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of The Bahamas, Hon. Perry Gladstone Christie, who was also accompanied by the Director of Education Lionel Sands, and directors of the Bahamian schools where the Cuban educators work.

THE BAHAMAS, 16 May 2016.- The Director of the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas, William Pratt, received the Ambassador of Cuba in the Caribbean country, Ismara Walter Vargas.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to ensure proper implementation of the existing Memorandum of Understanding on migration issues between the two countries.

THE BAHAMAS, 12 May 2016.- The Ambassador of Cuba to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, made a courtesy call on the Hon. Dr. Daniel Johnson, Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture of the Caribbean country.

Overall, both sides discussed the most important aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries, while they committed to further strengthening the relations between Cuba and The Bahamas in the areas of culture and sport.

The chief curator of The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas is visiting Cuba

THE BAHAMAS, 27 March 2016. - The chief curator of The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas, Ms. Amanda Holly Bynoe, is visiting Cuba as part of cultural exchange between the two countries.

Since her arrival to Havana last 23 March, the curator has developed an intensive program organized by the Ministry of Culture of Cuba. Among the activities carried out, she visited the Communitarian Project of the plastic artist José Fuster, the National Museum of Fine Arts and the Wilfredo Lam Center, headquarters of the Havana Biennale, among others.
