Between March 27 and April 10, 2018, Praise Academy of Barbados made a professional exchange tour with the National Ballet School of Cuba, with 23 of its students who during a year have been trained by the Cuban teacher Laura Álvarez, who in addition to receiving several training sessions competed in the International Festival of Ballet Schools, reaching an  award as finalists of the event, a fact that establishes an excellent precedent since it speaks of the potential of Barbadian children and all what can be achieved with the professional exchange in this area among our Caribbean nations.

Organized by the Cuban teacher, Yolanda Nelson, a multidisciplinary contest was held at Sharon Primary School, especially dedicated to highlighting the relevance of the Spanish language in the Barbadian public education system, to which the Ambassador and the Consul of Cuba were especially invited, who also participated in the awarding of those students who competed in the modalities of oratory, reading and song; the activity, that counted with Cuban professors in the jury that dictated in each discipline of the competition, culminated in a joyful journey of celebration, dancing and singing
