Cycling among the sports with the highest results in Barbados

Among the seven disciplines included in the cooperation agreement in force during the last decade between the National Sports Council (NSC) of Barbados and Cubadeportes SA, cycling is one of the sports that has achieved the most results in the medal table of several events between 2012 and 2017, being one of the factors that has most influenced the permanence of the Cuban technician, Mijail Santos Jiménez, who has been able to integrate the various scientific elements of the Cuban training system and introduce them into the country.

Cuban Coaches in Barbados celebrate with high scores in various sports.

The Cuban sports mission in Barbados continues to accumulate good results in almost a decade of collaboration as teachers, coaches and methodologists in seven sports disciplines - athletics, boxing, cycling, field hockey, swimming, table tennis and volleyball - which has been concrete in the introduction of new sports in the system of school education, in the gradual improvement of skills of the athletes, in the leadership of national teams together with the clubs and federations, and in the methodological advice in the different levels.

Boxing appears among the disciplines that provide medals

Under the premises of the current cooperation agreement between the National Sports Council (NSC) of Barbados and Cubadeportes SA, another sport that has been outstanding with encouraging results is boxing, both female and male, in which the Cuban technician Felipe Álvarez Ramírez, has contributed with its work during five consecutive years, not only in the identification of talents in the schools programmed by the CND, but also with the Association of said sport to train and to follow up the athletes of the national teams that represent the country in international events.

Chancellor Maxine McClean, the featured speaker at the reception for the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Cuba
