Comrade David Comissiong awarded in Cuba.

With great enthusiasm and gratitude from Fidel, Cuba and his people, the lawyer, politician and activist of solidarity, David Comissiong, from Barbados, received in Havana the Medal of Friendship from Kenya Serrano, President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP). Comissiong is a founding member of the Cuba-Barbados Friendship Association and is the current Coordinator of the Caribbean Chapter of the International Network of Intellectuals, Artists and Activists In Defence of Humanity.

Prime Minister of Barbados to congratulate President Raúl Castro for Cuban National Day.

Barbados Prime Minister Freundel J. Stuart sent a congratulatory message to President General of the Army Raúl Castro on the occasion of Cuba's National Day on January 1, in which he highly valued the long friendship between the two peoples and Governments and ratifies their commitment to strengthen it and expand mutual cooperation. The president took the opportunity to refer again to "the tremendous contribution of comrade Fidel to the development of Barbados, the Caribbean and the international community.
