Belize and Cuba celebrate three decades of medical cooperation

Belize and the Republic of Cuba this week marked 26 years of a historic medical cooperation agreement between our two countries.

To commemorate the anniversary, the Embassy of Cuba in Belize held a medical symposium at the Inspiration Center at  mile 1.5 on the George Price Highway.

At the symposium, the embassy showcased the various sectors of the medical field, where the countries have collaborated over the years, as well as presentations from members of the Cuban medical corps, who work all over the country.

Government of Belize grants a recognition plaque to Cuba on the occasion of the 58th Anniversary of the Revolution.

Belize, January 23, 2017. Gregory Vernon, Acting Director of the National Institute for Culture and History (NICH), an entity that rules the cultural and historical research policy under the Ministry of Culture, Education, Sports and Youth presented last Friday the 20th a plaque of recognition to the Ambassador of Cuba in Belize Lissette Perez in gesture of gratitude of the solidarity and cooperation from our country to Belize in different fields.

Cuban residents in Belize express their support to the Cuban Revolution.

Belize, January 23, 2017. Cubans residents in Belize expressed their support for the Cuban Revolution during the event that took place last Friday 20th, at the House of Culture of Belize.

Dr. Ramón Roberto Varela Gonzalez, spoke during the event that also included the screening of the documentary "Ode to the Revolution" by director Roberto Chile.
