SA thanks Cuba's contribution to the training of South African dancers

An emotional ceremony of diploma delivery to South African students and professors graduated in various ballet courses took place in the main theater of Montecasino, Johannesburg, on Saturday, October 27.

Nearly a hundred children, young people and teachers of different levels, trained in South Africa under the method of the Cuban School of Ballet, received their graduation diplomas from the Cuban Ambassador, Rodolfo Benítez Verson, Guest of Honor at the event.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed South Africa’s support for Cuba’s annual resolution on the “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America (USA) against Cuba,” which will be voted on in the General Assembly at the United Nations (UN) Headquarters in New York on Wednesday, 31 October 2018.

KINGSTON, JAMAICA, 31st October, 2018.- The Parliament of Jamaica adopted unanimously and for the tenth consecutive occasion, a resolution to reject the criminal blockade the United States has imposed to Cuba during almost six decades.

The text of the resolution, presented by the Attorney General, Marlene Malahoo Forte, stresses that the economic, commercial and financial blockade constitutes the main obstacle to Cuba´s economic and social development and represents a violation of the International Law.

Monrovia, October 31st, 2018-, The Speaker of the House of Representatives of Liberia, Mr. Bhofal Chambers, received on Wednesday the Cuban Chargé d'Affaires, Yordenis Despaigne Vera. The exchange took place in the framework of the courtesy visit made by the latter to say goodbye due to the end of his mission in Liberia. During the meeting was also present the Second Secretary Carmen Maury Toledo.
