Daily Observer newspaper publishes article “Cuba grateful for Liberia´s role in advocacy to lift blockade”

Monrovia, January 22, 2018- In its digital version, the Daily Observer newspaper published an article entitled “Cuba grateful for Liberia´s role in advocacy to lift blockade”. Written by journalist Joaquin Sendolo, the text includes the main ideas expressed by the Chargé d'Affaires of Cuba in Liberia, Mr. Yordenis Despaigne Vera, within the framework of the celebration for the 59th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.

Prime Minister of Jamaica receives Cuban Ambassador

KINGTSTON, JAMAICA, January 22, 2018. Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holnes, welcomed the Cuban Ambassador, Ines Fors Fernandez in courtesy visit.

During the cordial meeting, the Prime Minister highlighted the ties that unite Cuba and Jamaica, which started long before the date diplomatic relations were establish, 8th December 1972.

Holness referred with pride that his country was refuge to many Cuban patriots that fought for independence like Jose Marti, Antonio Maceo and Mariana Grajales.

Lectures by UWI Cave Hill representatives in the Conference marking the 45th Anniversary of CARICOM-Cuba relations translated to Spanish and published in Cuba.

The social science professor, Dr. Tennyson Joseph, and the Master April Louis, represented the UWI Cave Hill Campus at the XI International Conference on Caribbean Studies, sponsored by the Norman Girvan Chair of the University of Havana on December 8 of 2017, celebrating the 45th Anniversary of diplomatic and cooperation relations between Cuba and the Community of Caribbean States (CARICOM).The presentations of both academics were selected to be translated into Spanish and published by the University of Havana, as recognition of their political and professional relevance. Solidarity Ireland-Cuba, always present.

Dublin, January 20, 2018. Members of the executive of the Cuban Support Group, headed by its president, the architect Simon McGuinness, paid a visit to the new ambassador of Cuba in Ireland, Hugo René Ramos Milanes. At the meeting, they talked animatedly about the multiple tasks developed by the organization in the course of 2017 and the main goals proposed for the year that has just begun.
