BANGKOK, January 15, 2018. - The Secretary General of the Commission of Higher Education of Thailand, Dr. Suphat Champatong, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Hector Conde Almeida.
In the cordial meeting the good path of the bilateral relations was confirmed and the mutual will to continue strengthening them was reiterated, with special mention to the historical significance of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between both countries to be commemorated on May 15, 2018.
On January 16, 2018, a second technical meeting on cooperation in criminal matters took place in Washington D.C. between Cuban and US authorities as part of the law enforcement dialogue established between both countries in November 2015.
The meeting was held in an ambiance of respect and professionalism. Both delegations shared the view on the usefulness of the meeting and agreed to maintain these talks in the future.
A new book about the history of Cuba and the Cuban society is available in Danish bookstores. The book entitled "Cuba-historie og samfund", written by Brian Rasmussen, was published in Danish by Frydenlund/
Brian Rasmussen is a Danish journalist, friend of Cuba and member of the Danish-Cuban Association of Friendship. He was Chairman of the Association some years ago. (Embacuba Dinamarca)
KINGSTON, JAMAICA, January 16th, 2018. First Deputy Minister of Culture of Cuba, María Elena Salgado, started a four-day visit to Jamaica, this Monday, January 15th.
The visit has the purpose to assess the path of cooperation projects between the two countries and to identify new reas for bilateral collaboration in the sphere of culture and artistic training.
First Deputy Minister of Culture will meet with ministers of Culture and Education of Jamaica as well as with artistic education institutions and academic centres.
