The Cuban method of literacy for adults, "Yes I Can", continues to be applied successfully in the aboriginal communities of New South Wales, under the leadership of the Literacy for Life Foundation, its president Jack Beetsony and the advice of the Cuban specialists, Lucy Núñez and Félix Hernández.
A NATIONAL MEETING WITH CUBAN RESIDENTS WAS HELD IN CYPRUS.
Cyprus, Nicosia. - December 18, 2017. The Embassy of Cuba was the headquarters of the National Meeting of Cuban Residents in Cyprus, an activity that brought together a large number of attendees from all over of this island, located on the Mediterranean Sea.
KINGSTON, JAMAICA, December 18, 2017. Minister of Education, Youth and Information of Jamaica, Senator Ruel Reid, received the Cuban Ambassador, Ines fors Fernandez, at his offices in this capital.
During the fruitful meeting, the parts reiterated the willingness by both governments to continue strengthening the exchanges in the sphere of Education and to identify new areas for the bilateral cooperation that celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
The Ambassador Héctor Igarza Cabrera, Director of North Africa and Middle East Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, was received today in separated meetings by Mr. Hani Chemaitelly, Secretary General of the Lebanese Chancellery and Mr. Ghadi Khoury, Director for Political and Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of the Republic of Lebanon.
NASSAU, December 18th, 2017.- Different manifestations of the Cuban culture were present during the 14th International Film Festival of The Bahamas, as part of the collateral events.
Although on this occasion no Cuban films were shown, Cuba was present carrying the richness of its cultural identity. Young Cubans showed a potpourri of traditional dances, accompanied by a tasty Cuban food, cocktails to promote Havana Club rum and the art of Cigar rolling, courtesy of the representation of the company Habanos S.A in Nassau.
