Press Release: Cuba participates in the 2017 UN International Bazaar

New York, 25 May 2017. Despite the rainy weather, as each year, our culture and idiosyncrasy was present today at the UN International Bazaar.

The Cuban booth, represented by members of the Cuban Mission, irradiated in this event of cultural exchange, much humanism, solidarity and Cuban spirit. With delicious typical dishes and our traditional Guantanamera, Cuba’s space attracted many people from different nationalities and UN officials.

Cuban Scholarships to Jamaica Award Ceremony celebrated.

Kingston, May 25th, 2017. In a heartfelt ceremony celebrated at the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica, 9 scholarships were awarded by the Government of Cuba to Jamaican students. During the event, presided over by Ambassador Bernardo Guanche Hernandez and, on the Jamaican side, by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and the Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance and Public Service, Ambassador Marcia Gilbert-Roberts and Rudyard Spencer, respectively, the young awardees signed the Code of Ethics.

Delegation wraps up official visit to Cuba

A delegation consisting of government ministers and experts from Belize led by Deputy Prime Minister Patrick Faber recently concluded an official visit to the Republic of Cuba.

The tour was held from May 22-26. Faber was accompanied by Tourism Minister Manuel Heredia Jr. and Health Minister of State Dr. Angel Campos.

The delegation met with Cuban ministers of External Trade, Culture, Tourism and Health. They were officially welcomed by Cuba’s vice President H.E. Salvador Valde’s Mesa.

Chargé d'Affaires of Cuba in Liberia delivers a conference to Liberian university students.
