Despite the obstacles faced by Cuba as a developing country, we remain fully committed to multilateralism. This is manifested not only in our active involvement in the works of the United Nations, but also in our political will to meet financial responsibilities.
However, such political will is hampered by the economic, financial and commercial Embargo imposed by the United States against Cuba.

CUBA, October 26 2016.- The Cuban resolution "Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba" received at United Nations today, a historic support to get 191 votes in favor, none against and only 2 abstentions (United States and Israel).
Kuwait, Oct. 26, 2016. Andres Gonzalez Garrido, ambassador of Cuba in Kuwait visited the headquarters of the weekly magazine The Times of Kuwait, where he held a meeting with his editor in chief Reaven de Souza.
During the meeting they discussed various international issues of interest, including the vote of the Cuban resolution against the blockade, that to be held this October 26 during the sessions of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
