The Cuban Embassy in Thailand organized the III Meeting of Cuban Residents in Thailand as part of the strengthening of ties with the Cuban community abroad. The activity began with the singing of our national anthem and allowed to share experiences, reaffirm our national identity and discuss issues of common interest.

The event was attended by the Cuban Ambassador to Thailand, Pedro Pablo San Jorge Rodriguez and Consul Niurka de la O Mojena as well as representatives of the Cuban community living in various Thai cities. 

Ambassador Jorge P. Leon Cruz participated in the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory over fascism during the Great Patriotic War of the Soviet Union, organised by the Russian Embassy in Beirut.

At the moving ceremony, where Russian Ambassador Alexander Ruvaok gave the keynote address, tribute was paid to the more than 27 million Soviet soldiers who gave their lives in a struggle that represented not only a national tragedy and a heroic triumph for the peoples of the former Soviet Union but also a decisive contribution to the salvation of mankind from fascism.
