Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency recognizes the good practices of Cuba in the use of nuclear techniques in health and agriculture

Vienna, April 23, 2020. Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency recognized the good practices of Cuba in the use of nuclear techniques for peaceful purposes.

In his official Twitter account, the Director General mentioned the Island as one of the Caribbean countries, along with Belize, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica, which appropriately implement nuclear energy in sectors such as agriculture and health.

Executive Secretary of the Organization of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty recognizes solidarity from Cuba in times of COVID-19

Vienna, April 22, 2020. The Executive Secretary of the Organization of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, Dr. Lassina Zerbo, recognized the cooperative work of Cuba, assisting other countries in the fight against COVID-19.

In his letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, the Executive Secretary expressed his sympathy for the Government of the Island in these difficult times and urged the Cuban people to continue facing the crisis with the same spirit of resistance and solidarity that characterizes it.

The Covid-19 pandemic evinces the need to cooperate despite political differences

The impact of COVID19 can already be measured and will be assessed in the future by the striking numbers of people infected, the unacceptable numbers of deaths, the unquestionable damages to the world economy, production, trade, employment and personal income of millions of people.  It is a crisis that goes well beyond the scope of health.

 

Information note on the measures adopted by Cuban Consulates in view of the spread of Covid-19

Havana, 19 March 2020.- In view of the serious international epidemiological situation arising from the high rate of spread of the novel coronavirus (SARS CoV 2/Covid-19), and its rapid expansion, Cuban Consulates abroad have adopted measures aimed at protecting Cuban nationals requesting services and the Cuban officials working in our country’s consular offices overseas against potential spread of the disease.
