Cuban delegation in attendance to BMEX in Barbados.

A delegation composed of Milena Pérez, director of the Chamber of Commerce, and Miladys Ortega, director of the importing company ITH, attended the annual edition of BMEX-2107 made in early May. As part of their tight program, they held useful exchange meetings with several Barbadian companies, as well as with the board of directors of the Investment Development Corporation (BIDC), Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI).

Mighty Gabby´s concert closes the VI Caribbean cultural colloquium at Casa de las Américas.

The famous Barbadian musician Anthony "Mighty Gabby" Carter was specially invited to perform the closing concert of the VI Colloquium on Cultural Diversity of the Caribbean, organized by the House of the Americas in Havana, between May 22 and 26 . Gabby, well known as a Caribbean icon of Calypso, delighted a select audience with several of the most famous songs of his repertoire, which were recorded with seven young Cuban musicians, in another clear expression of island cultural integration.

David has defeated Goliath at OAS

The resounding diplomatic and political victory that our Caribbean Community (CARICOM) nation states won against the powerful quintet of the United States of America (USA) , Canada, Mexico, Peru and Panama at the Organization of American States (OAS) meeting that was held in Washington D.C on Wednesday 31st May 2017 may be likened to the biblical triumph of the pure and principled David (the little shepherd boy) over Goliath, the mighty and power-drunk warrior!

Cuba, a country that is characterized by promoting solidarity relations, which is identified by its way of thinking and acting, with sovereignty and independence, aims to maintain the solid and traditional ties of friendship that the NUPW has had for many years with the Cuban trade union movement.
