Statement by the Belize/Cuba Solidarity Group.
We, the Belize-Cuba Solidarity Group, hereby condemn the decades-long blockade imposed by the United States of America on Cuba. This blockade is the root cause of numerous problems and hardships faced by Cuba. It's crucial to understand that the true victims of this blockade are not the Cuban government, but the Cuban people. They have endured over 60 years of suffering due to the arrogance and coercion of an empire desperate to exert its dominance.
Belize in solidarity with Cuba in the face of energy emergency
Belmopan, Oct 21 (Prensa Latina).- The government of Belize today expressed solidarity with Cuba in the face of the energy contingency that affected that country and linked that situation with the limitations of the island as a result of the hostile policy of the United States.
Through a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the authorities of Belmopan regretted that since October 18 the Antillean nation has been facing massive blackouts throughout its territory.
Cuban Party Leader Holds Exchange with Belizean Ambassador.
Havana, October 16, 2024.- Comrade Emilio Lozada Garcia, head of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, held a cordial exchange with Ann Lou Burns, ambassador of Belize to Cuba.
During the meeting, both parties agreed to continue strengthening working relations with the United People's Party and expand them in areas of common interest such as youth, women's equality and the peasant sector.
Cuban delegation participates in the Regional Workshop on the BBNJ Agreement held in Belize.
Placencia, October 10, 2024.- Representatives of Cuba participated in the Regional Workshop for Caribbean Small Island Developing States on the Agreement for the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biodiversity beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ), which took place from October 7 to 10 in the southern Belizean city of Placencia.
At the event, M.S.c Teresa Cruz Sardiñas, from the Environment Directorate of CITMA, presented the experience of #Cuba in the process to become a State Party to the BBNJ Agreement.
