Cuban Foreign Minister congratulates his New Zealand counterpart.

Wellington, November 5. Cuban FM Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla extended its cordial congratulations to the FM of New Zealand, H.E Nanaia Mahuta for her appointment, and expressed its willingness to "continue expanding the ties of friendship and cooperation between our countries."

Cuba and New Zealand share broad coincidences on many issues on the international agenda and the New Zealand government supports General Assembly resolution 74/7 against the blockade. 

Solidarity group condemns in Liberia intensification of US blockade and the complicit silence of US in the face of armed attack on the Cuban embassy in Washington.

Monrovia, October 31, 2020 - The Liberia-Cuba solidarity group denounced the complicit silence of the US government and the evasion of justice for those guilty of terrorism against Cuba, while a growing intensification of the blockade against Cuba, which has lasted more than six decades, is taking place.

In a statement, the solidarity group expressed its support for the Cuban people in their six-decade struggle against the economic blockade and the aggressive US policy against Cuba.

Wellington, October 27. The Cuban Ambassador, Edgardo Valdés López, made a presentation on Cuban foreign policy and its priorities in the world today, at an event sponsored by the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs (NZIIA), held at Victoria University.

Members of the Wellington chapter of the Institute, academics, university professors and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade attended.

It was a wide and interesting exchange that contributed to the knowledge of the Cuban reality and our interaction with the world.

 

Cuban Ambassador presents business opportunities in Cuba at LANZBC event.

Auckland, October 22. At an event organized by the Latin America / New Zealand Business Council (LANZBC), in the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, the Ambassador of Cuba, Edgardo Valdés López and the New Zealand businessman Geoff Marsland, from the Havana Coffee Works (HCW) company , presented to more than one hundred young professionals, entrepreneurs and executives of LANZBC, the new business and investment environment in Cuba and the concrete experience of HCW.

Wellington, October 7. Cuban Ambassador, Edgardo Valdés López, participated in a round table organized by the Latin American chapter of the Asia-Pacific Council for Excellence (Latam / CAPE) at the School of Government and Business of the University of Victoria.

The event was attended by Ambassadors or seconds from the GRULAC countries accredited in New Zealand, to promote business and investment opportunities in their respective countries.

Cuban President calls to democratize the UN.

Havana, September 22. In his speech to the UN General Assembly, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel said: “It is urgent to reform the UN. This powerful organization, which emerged after the loss of millions of lives in two world wars and as a result of a world understanding of the importance of dialogue, negotiation, cooperation and international law, must not postpone any further its updating and democratization. Today´s world needs the UN just as the one where it came into being did.
