Two new Motswana for scholarships of Medicine in Cuba

Cuban Ambassador H.E. Patricia L. Pego Guerra congratulates Motswana youngs Atang Balapile and Tshepo Masole, selected to study Medicine in Cuba.

Becoming doctors, amidst Covid-19, was the decision made by them, who will start the career at the Latin America School of Medicine (ELAM), in Havana, year 2020/2021, as part of the Cuban Program of Scholarships.

The diplomatic was accompanied by Dr. Liam Kadek, National Coordinator of the Cuban Medical Team in Botswana and Overt Tavare, graduated of Geology in the Island.

New Motswana doctors graduates in Cuba

The negative impact of Covid pandemic does not make less exciting the graduation 2020 at the Latin America School of Medicine (ELAM), in Havana.

Among the new proud doctors that finished theirs studies you can find Seabe Thupa,

Masa Martha Mogaetsho and Ambrocia Balekang Tshwaro Matabogo.

Seven years ago the scholarship to study Medicine in Cuba was a dream for them and families.

Today is reality and soon they will return to their communities in Botswana to support the local health system.

Heads of Diplomatic Missions of Cuba and Kenya meets in Gaborone

Cuban Ambassador H.E Patricia L. Pego Guerra held a meeting with H.E. Mohamed Shidiye, High Commissioner of Kenya to Botswana.

They exchanged ideas on the international situation, as well as on the bilateral and multilateral relations between Kenya and Cuba.

Also discussed about COVID-19 efforts and results, in our respective countries and worldwide.

Cuba and Botswana cooperation in sports

Cuban Ambassador H.E. Patricia L. Pego Guerra held a meeting with Falcon Sedimo, CEO of the Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC).

They evaluated the bilateral cooperation in sports and agreed to continue working together for its consolidation.
