Ambassador of Cuba visits Napier.

 

Napier, October 17. The Cuban Ambassador, Edgardo Valdés López, visited the city of Napier, where he met with the mayor, H.W Kristen Wise.

In a friendly conversation, they exchanged about Cuba and Napier and evaluated possible forms of cooperation, particularly in the cultural sphere and the promotion of tourism.

Cuban Ambassador participates in a round table on business opportunities.

Wellington, October 7. Cuban Ambassador, Edgardo Valdés López, participated in a round table organized by the Latin American chapter of the Asia-Pacific Council for Excellence (Latam / CAPE) at the School of Government and Business of the University of Victoria.

The event was attended by Ambassadors or seconds from the GRULAC countries accredited in New Zealand, to promote business and investment opportunities in their respective countries.

Cuban Ambassador promotes greater knowledge of Cuba and the Caribbean in New Zealand.

Wellington, September 15. Cuban Ambassador Edgardo Valdes had an extensive and interesting exchange with Karim Dickie, President of the Wellington section of the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs (NZIIA) and Executive Director of the Caribbean Council.
They talked about Cuba, the Caribbean and their relationship with New Zealand.
Both agreed to work together for a better understanding of these issues and to disseminate business and investment opportunities in Cuba.

Cuban Ambassador meets with Director of CAPE-LATAM.

Wellington, August 18. The Cuban ambassador, Edgardo Valdés, received Mathew O´Meagher, Director of the Latin American chapter of the Asia-Pacific Center for Excellence (CAPE-LATAM) of New Zealand at the Embassy.

In a friendly atmosphere, they evaluated possible actions to, despite the complex world epidemiological situation, contribute to a better understanding of Cuba and Latin America in New Zealand.

Promoting informational events, publication of articles, academic exchanges and other forms of cooperation are in the plans.

Cuban Head of Mission in Liberia holds meeting with Liberian Foreign Ministry official

Monrovia, August 17, 2020 - Respecting the measures established within the health protocols, today the Cuban Head of Diplomatic Mission in Liberia Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera held a meeting with the official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this African country Hon. David Kountu with whom she discussed the Cuba-Liberia Scholarship Program.

Cuban and Maori representatives analyze possibilities for cooperation.

Wellington, July 22- The Cuban Ambassador, Edgardo Valdés, received in his residence the envoy of King Maori, Tuheitia Potatau Te Wherowhero VII, his eldest son Ariki Tamaroa Whatumoana Teaa.

 

He was accompanied by the King's Chief of Staff and other Maori personalities. On the Cuban side, Dalila Vázquez, First Secretary and Consul also participated.

 

Activities for July 26

On Saturday July 25 at 3:30 pm at the Ellen Meville Center, 2 Freyberg Place, Auckland, we will open the photo exhibition "Cuba through the eyes of the kiwis". At 4:00 pm we will have a public meeting to celebrate the Day of National Rebellion, show solidarity with Cuban medical cooperation in more than 60 countries and condemn the increasing US sanctions against the Cuban people.

 

Liberia-Cuba Friendship Group joins the call to award the Nobel Peace Prize to Cuban Medical Cooperation.

Monrovia, May 26, 2020 - The Liberia-Cuba Friendship Group made public, through an official statement, its support for the international campaign to nominate Cuban Medical Brigade Henry Reeve for the Nobel Peace Prize. In this way, it echoed the diverse voices that in different countries of the world make the request to grant this laurel to the Cuban medical collaborators who distribute solidarity through their health services, and today fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in all continents.
