U.S. Pressure and Coercion Impose Mercenary on the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights of the OAS
For months, the U.S. Secretary of State led an aggressive campaign aimed at installing a prominent member on Washington’s payroll—an outspoken supporter of the blockade and aggression against Cuba—as an allegedly impartial human rights expert.
The Hague, March 10, 2025. The new permanent representative of Cuba to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Eva Yelina Silva Walker, presented her Credentials to the Director General, Fernando Arias.
The ceremony took place at the headquarters of the international organization and was also attended by the Deputy Director General, the Director of External Relations and the second head of the Cabinet.

As part of the close and fluid relations with the Vatican, the Government of Cuba has remained in touch with Pope Francis and his representatives and, as has occurred in the past, has kept His Holiness informed about the processes of review of the convictions and the release on imprisoned person, a practice that is common in our judicial system and has characterized the humanitarian record of the Revolution.
The Hague, November 26, 2024. The Cuban delegation headed by the Permanent Representative of Cuba to the OPCW, Anet Pino Rivero, is actively participating in the
29th Conference of States Parties to the organization.
During her speech, the ambassador reiterated Cuba's commitment to the organization and the Convention and its willingness to continue participating actively in it.
She also stressed the importance of promoting the implementation of Article XI, on international cooperation, as it is particularly important for developing countries.
