Kuwait, September 19, 2016. Andres Gonzalez Garrido, ambassador of Cuba in Kuwait signed the book of condolences on the death of comrade Rene Nunez Tellez, president of the National Assembly of Nicaragua at the headquarters of the diplomatic mission of the country in Kuwait. In the Nicaraguan embassy he was received by the ambassador of Nicaragua in Kuwait, Mazier Oscar Aranda.
Rene Nunez Tellez, was a historic leader and member of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN).
Responding to an invitation by Army General Raul Castro Ruz, next September 18th the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Dr. Hassan Rouhani, will start an official visit to Cuba. He will arrive to Havana from Venezuela, where he is going to participate in the XVII Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
During his stay on the Island, Dr. Rouhani will hold official talks with his Cuban counterpart and it is expected that important bilateral agreements will be signed in the context of the visit.
As everyone surely knows, Cuba, like other major countries like India, Egypt and the former Yugoslavia, is one of the founders of NAM. Since the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in January 1959, the foreign policy of the island has been focused on the guiding principles, emanating from the First Summit of Bandung in 1955 and the XIV Declaration of NOAL Summit in Havana 2006.
A delegation of the Cuban scientific sector, headed by Dr. Luis Herrera Martinez, Scientific and Commercial Advisor of the Higher Business Management Organization “BioCubaFarma”, arrived in Tehran for talks with Pasteur Institute of Iran. Upon arrival at the Iranian capital the delegation was received by representatives of this institute and the Ambassador of Cuba, Vladimir González Quesada.
