The year 2024 represented a significant period for the Embassy of Cuba in the United Kingdom, marked by progress in various areas, highlighting the commitment to strengthen bilateral relations, strengthen ties with the Cuban resident community, promote solidarity towards our country, disseminate the Cuban cultural wealth and promote economic, commercial and tourism opportunities. Through a broad and dynamic agenda, the Embassy built bridges of cooperation that generated positive impacts in multiple spheres.

“Beyond borders and blockade: Cuba's influence in the Caribbean” was the imposed foots for members of the Cuban Alumni Association, together with Cuban diplomats in Saint Kitts and Nevis, who addressed the issue of the blockade imposed on the largest island of the Antilles, from another perspective. The condemnation of the blockade and the unwavering position of the people and government of Saint Kitts and Nevis against this policy, was expressed by the speakers who participated, among whom the Prime Minister of the Federation, Honorable Dr. Terrance Drew, and the president of the Cuban Alumni Association, Hollis Prentice.

Kingston, Jamaica, June 23, 2022. The Honorable Olivia Grange, Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports of Jamaica received the Cuban Ambassador Fermín Quiñones Sánchez on Wednesday morning, at the headquarters of his ministry. The Minister was accompanied by the Minister of State Alando Terrelongue, the permanent secretary Denzil Thorpe and other directors and officials of the sector.

Taking into consideration the complexity of life at global and regional level during the past two years, we will broach the new physical and virtual spaces of cultural participation during the pandemic.

Echoes of the “Havana Jazz Plaza Festival 2020” in Ulaanbaatar.

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. February 17, 2020.- The pianist, composer, director of the “UB JAZZ CLUB” and President of the “Jazz of the Great Steppe” Festival of Ulaanbaatar, Mr. N. Ganbat, delivered today to the Ambassador of Cuba in Mongolia, a thanks you letter addressed to the Cuban authorities of the Ministry of Culture and the Cuban Institute of Music for their successful participation in the International Festival “JAZZ Plaza-2020”. The festival is organized every year in the city of Havana and this year was on January 14 to 20.

Cuba participates for the first time in the 6th Baku International Book Fair that opens today in the capital of Azerbaijan.

The Cuban stand shows works related to the history, literature, art and architecture of the Greater Antilles.

The Cuban ambassador to this Caucasian nation, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, commented on his twitter account that it is dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the foundation of Havana.

During the opening day at the Cuban stand there was a meeting with students of foreign languages and Azeri intellectuals.

Cuba will participate in the VI Baku International Book Fair

Cuba will participate in the VI Baku International Book Fair, Azerbaijan, which will be held from September 27 to 29, with an exhibition of books, digital platforms, multimedia products and cultural works of various Cuban authors and artists, the diplomatic mission reported today of the Island in this Caucasian nation.

The Cuban stand will show titles published by several Cuban publishing houses, among which are: Letras Cubanas, Ciencias Sociales, Verde Olivo, Unión, Citmatel y Soycubano, among others.

The diplomat acknowledged the Netherland's newest experiences in the areas of culture, education and emancipation, which it shares with other countries and in which Cuba and the Netherlands could promote collaboration between the two countries.
