The Ministry of Foreign Relations condemns in the strongest and most absolute terms the fraudulent qualification of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism, announced by the United States government in a cynical and hypocritical act.

The Danish publication "Kommunist", organ of the Communist Party in Denmark (Kpid), highlights in one of its pages an article by the Ambassador of Cuba, Roger López García, on the work of the "Henry Reeve" Brigade.

“An award to a noble cause"

The 'Henry Reeve' Brigade was created on September 19, 2005 by the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, in response to the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina to New Orleans, in the United States, which left around 1,336 deaths and losses valued at $ 75 billion dollars.

We, the Heads of State and Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Republic of Cuba, gathered via videoconference on 8 December, 2020, on the occasion of the 7th CARICOM-Cuba Summit held in commemoration of the 48th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the four CARICOM independent States and Cuba and the 18th anniversary of CARICOM-Cuba Day;

I thank the Pro-Tempore Secretariat of Andorra for the successful celebration of this meeting and the wise way in which the Conference activities have been conducted, even amidst the exceptional circumstances imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.  We reiterate our support and recognize the work of the Ibero-American General Secretariat in these efforts.
