Promoting Cuban culture.

Wellington, February 20. Personnel from the Cuban Embassy participated in the annual picnic in Island Bay, organized by the cultural project "CubanFusion" directed by Cuban Rafael Ferrer and his wife Rosina.

On this occasion, the young Cuban dancer Ana Gallardo, soloist dancer of the Royal Ballet of New Zealand, joined.

Many attendees from the most diverse parts of the world shared a summer day and enjoyed Cuban music and dances.

 

 

Meeting with friends of Cuba in Auckland.

Auckland, January 30. The Cuban Ambassador and Consul Dalila Vazquez held a meeting with members of the solidarity movement with Cuba, including members of its national leadership.

It was an interesting exchange about the situation in Cuba, our help to other countries, and the solidarity we received in New Zealand and in the rest of the world.

An opportunity to thank those who for years have defended our cause.

 

Cuban dancer nominated for the New Zealand Latin Award 2020.

Wellington, November 3. Cuban dancer Greydis Montero, who for years has promoted Afro-Cuban dances in New Zealand, has been nominated for the New Zealand Latino Award 2020 .

Greydis is the artistic director of the successful Rotorua Cuban Festival, which annually attracts dancers, musicians and fans from all over New Zealand and Australia.

Like her, several resident Cuban musicians and dancers, proud of their roots, successfully promote our culture thousands of kilometers from the island.

 

 

Exchange about Cuban foreign policy at NZIIA event.

 

Wellington, October 27. The Cuban Ambassador, Edgardo Valdés López, made a presentation on Cuban foreign policy and its priorities in the world today, at an event sponsored by the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs (NZIIA), held at Victoria University.

Members of the Wellington chapter of the Institute, academics, university professors and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade attended.

It was a wide and interesting exchange that contributed to the knowledge of the Cuban reality and our interaction with the world.

 

Cuban Ambassador presents business opportunities in Cuba at LANZBC event.

Auckland, October 22. At an event organized by the Latin America / New Zealand Business Council (LANZBC), in the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, the Ambassador of Cuba, Edgardo Valdés López and the New Zealand businessman Geoff Marsland, from the Havana Coffee Works (HCW) company , presented to more than one hundred young professionals, entrepreneurs and executives of LANZBC, the new business and investment environment in Cuba and the concrete experience of HCW.

Cuban Ambassador participates in a round table on business opportunities.

Wellington, October 7. Cuban Ambassador, Edgardo Valdés López, participated in a round table organized by the Latin American chapter of the Asia-Pacific Council for Excellence (Latam / CAPE) at the School of Government and Business of the University of Victoria.

The event was attended by Ambassadors or seconds from the GRULAC countries accredited in New Zealand, to promote business and investment opportunities in their respective countries.

Cuban Ambassador promotes greater knowledge of Cuba and the Caribbean in New Zealand.

Wellington, September 15. Cuban Ambassador Edgardo Valdes had an extensive and interesting exchange with Karim Dickie, President of the Wellington section of the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs (NZIIA) and Executive Director of the Caribbean Council.
They talked about Cuba, the Caribbean and their relationship with New Zealand.
Both agreed to work together for a better understanding of these issues and to disseminate business and investment opportunities in Cuba.

Wellington Mayor visits the Cuban Embassy.

Wellington, August 7.- H.E Andy Foster, Mayor of Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, visited the Cuban Embassy today for a fraternal meeting with the Latin American Ambassadors.

 

It was a great opportunity to jointly evaluate future cultural actions aimed at expanding the knowledge of the city's inhabitants about our countries and cultures.

 

An exhibition of photos about Cuba and a Latin American cultural festival among the ideas to materialize soon.

 

Cuba joins Cook Islands in celebrating its National Day.

Wellington, August 5- Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz congratulated the government and people of the Cook Islands on the occasion of their national holiday. In his message, he confirmed "the will to further expand the ties of friendship and cooperation between our countries."

 

In Wellington, Cuban Ambassador Edgardo Valdés joined His Excellency Elizabeth Wright Koteka, High Commissioner for the Cook Islands in New Zealand, to celebrate 55 years of Cook Islands self-government.
