Cuba expresses gratitude to Latvia for its support against the US blockade
A review of the bilateral issues was carried out by Ambassador Beatriz Parra González, in a virtual exchange with the Director of Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, HE Ms. Inga Krastina, at which time she highlighted gratitude to Latvia's support for the Cuban Resolution against the blockade and signified the recent March of the Combatant People where 500 thousand Havana residents protested in front of the US Embassy to demand the exclusion of the Island of the alleged List of State Sponsors of Terrorism, a show of popular support for the Government in the midst of the intense adversities generated by the financial persecution and economic asphyxiation that the country faces, organized from Washington.

During the conmemoration we welcomed at the Embassy the distinguished authorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, HE Mrs. Anna-Kaisa Keikkinen, Director General of Africa, Middle East and Latin America; and HE Mr. Lasse Keisalo, Director for Latin America and the Caribbean. We take this opportunity to thank Finland for its collaboration throughout the year and its support for our denunciation of the US blockade to Cuba.
Cuba's continued presence on that list and the intensification of the blockade policy are ruthless actions against the Cuban people that must cease now!
The current U.S. administration, which today has exactly one month left in the White House, has done nothing to move away from the line of reinforced blockade and economic suffocation of Cuba that was left as a legacy by the Republican administration that returns to the Oval Office in January. With the application of the 243 additional measures and the maintenance of Cuba on the list of countries sponsoring terrorism, Biden has disciplinedly and cruelly complied with the policy that Trump approved during his term.
