Cuba and India celebrate the 66th anniversary of their bilateral diplomatic relations, based on mutual respect, collaboration, and solidarity.
Today, January 12, 2026, our two countries mark another anniversary of their bilateral diplomatic relations, established in 1960. India was one of the first Asian countries to recognize the young Cuban Revolution. Che Guevara's early visit to India in July 1959; the subsequent meeting between Fidel Castro and Jawaharlal Nehru in New York in September 1960; and Fidel's two visits to India, in 1973 and 1983, consolidated the deep bonds of friendship that endure to this day.
Declaration of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba
The Cuban writers and artists who are members of UNEAC strongly condemn the military aggression by the United States against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. There have been reports since the early hours of today of bombings and military actions against Caracas and other localities in the country, which represent serious threats to the stability of Our America.
WE ARE ALL VENEZUELA
From the House of the Americas we strongly reject the military aggression perpetrated by the US government against the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
It is imperative that all men and women of goodwill in the world mobilize to denounce and condemn this terrible affront to the peace of Our America.
It is obvious that imperialism seeks to seize the natural resources of the Latin American country, steal its oil, without putting at risk the peace of the world, nor the lives of the Venezuelans.
