Fifth CELAC Summit begins with a minute of silence in honor of Fidel

The Dominican Republic, January 25, 2017.— Latin American and Caribbean Heads of State and Government held a minute of silence in honor of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on inaugurating the 5th Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) this Tuesday, January 24.

Cuban Ambassador Oscar Israel Martinez Cordoves presented on January 18th his credentials to His Majesty the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, in a very traditional and colourful ceremony, where credential letters were also presented by the concurrent Ambassadors of Pakistan, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
