Cuba-Jamaica relations remain positive
Kingston, Jamaica, 30 June 2020. The Cuban Ambassador to Jamaica, H.E Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, was received yesterday afternoon at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica by Ambassador Marsha Coore Lobban, Acting Director of the Caribbean and Americas Department, to review the main issues of the bilateral agenda.
The meeting took place in a fraternal, friendly environment, in full observance of physical distancing and protection measures adopted in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
A Jamaican member of Parliament urges condemnation of US bill on Cuban Medical Brigades

Dr. Morais Guy, a member of the Parliament of Jamaica and PNP’s Shadow Minister of Health, said he was very concerned about the recent introduction in the US Senate of a draft law against Cuba's international medical cooperation, an action that he described as absurd and that should be condemned by all sovereign nations.
The Cuban medical brigade is ready to assist the Turks and Caicos Islands

Kingston, Jamaica, 25 June 2020. Cuba’s Henry Reeve Medical Cooperation Brigade present today in the Turks and Caicos Islands is ready, awaiting completion of quarantine, to help the islands to fight the scourge of Covid-19.
Dr. Alfredo Morán, Head of the group of Cuban healthcare professionals, said they are in excellent health, fulfilling all duties they have been assigned at this stage, before they start dealing with the disease caused by the novel coronavirus SAR- CoV-2.
The PNPYO of Jamaica sent a message of solidarity with Cuba
Kingston, Jamaica, 24 June 2020. The People's National Party Youth Organization (PNPYO) of Jamaica sent the Cuban Embassy a message of solidarity with the Cuban people in the context of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The document, issued by Krystal Tomlinson, PNPYO President, and Dexroy Martin, its Secretary General, commends the ties of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and Jamaica and salutes those who are on the front line of the fight against the pandemic for “their continued dedication, patience and hard work in this time of crisis. ”
The Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica celebrates Father's Day
Kingston, Jamaica, 22 June 2020. The staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Jamaica celebrated Father's Day this third Sunday of June, with a political-cultural-recreational activity held on the premises of its diplomatic headquarters in this capital. The celebration was attended by a reduced number of participants, in compliance with measures adopted in the country to control the spread of Covid-19.
