A new group of Cuban teachers arrives in Jamaica

This morning, a group of twenty Cuban teachers (eight women and 12 men) arrived in Kingston on a charter flight from Havana, as part of the annual renewal of the staff of the Cuban Education Brigade in Jamaica.

They were welcomed at the airport by Ambassador Inés Fors Fernández, Head of the Cuban State Mission in Jamaica; Dr. Reynel Isalgue, Head of the Cuban Education Brigade in Jamaica; and officials from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information of Jamaica.

In a request letter sent to CARICOM’s current chair and Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves, Moyston asked to explore the possibility of building alliances at the United Nations to demand the end of Washington's blockade on Havana.

Continuing students should access the websites of their respective universities and faculties, and contact them if necessary, to receive detailed guidance on their academic process and keep working on topics related to subjects pending to be completed during the course.

Yesterday, the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Jamaica joined other diplomatic delegations of Spanish-speaking nations to support the local immersion program for the training of future Spanish teachers in this Caribbean island.

The Foreign Language Curriculum for these trainee teachers include language immersion in a Spanish-speaking country and, for those who are unable to travel abroad, the alternative of local immersion. However, the spread of Covid-19 poses a new variant: virtual immersion.
