Spanish Town, 26 January 2024. During the celebration of the homage to our National Hero at the "José Martí" Technical High School, the figures of two Spanish teachers, Pastor Cruz and Nelson Brown, stand out. Both are Cuban residents with different life stories, but with one thing in common: their love for teaching, the history of Cuba and Martí's ideals.

Spanish Town, 26 January 2024. The José Martí Technical High School welcomed diplomats, health and education collaborators and Cubans living in Jamaica to pay homage to the Apostle on the 171st anniversary of his birth.

Students from the centre read a biography of our National Hero and recited the poem "I grow a white rose". The President of the School Board, Sandra Swyer Watson, expressed her gratitude for the support given by the Cuban Revolution to the education of the new Jamaican generations.

José Martí Technical High School celebrates its 47th anniversary

Escuela Secundaria Técnica José Martí celebra aniversario 47.

Spanish Town, 10 January 2024. Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica, Fermín Quiñones Sánchez, and the Second Secretary of this diplomatic mission, Rolando Dávila Gallardo, attended the 47th anniversary ceremony of the "José Martí" Technical High School.

During the activity, Alexander Shaw, president of the Association of Graduates of the centre, reiterated his gratitude for the gesture of the Cuban government and people in donating this facility and recalled the presence of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz at his first graduation.
