José Martí and the Cuban Revolution" exhibition inaugurated

Kingston, 16 May 2023. The Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica, in coordination with the Simon Bolivar Cultural Centre, inaugurated the temporary exhibition "José Martí and the Cuban Revolution", as a tribute to our National Hero on the 128th anniversary of his fall in combat. Present at the opening ceremony were members of youth organisations, members of the Cuba solidarity movement, students from St. Aloysius Primary School and a representation of the Cuban State Mission in Jamaica.

As our people know, with the celebration of the Dialogue of '78, promoted and led by the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, a process of recomposition, diversification and strengthening of ties with the Cuban community abroad began, which continues to develop satisfactorily today.

Kingston, 12 May 2023. A business delegation led by the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba developed a work programme in Jamaican territory between 8 and 12 May. The delegation was composed of companies related to the construction, biotechnology and iron and steel industries.

Cuban culture present at Mercy Academy's Modern Languages Day

Kingston, 5 May 2023. The Third Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica, Anabel Landrón Ochoa, participated in Mercy Academy's Modern Languages Day.

During the event, the Cuban diplomat spoke with students about the distinctive elements of Cuban culture and the history of brotherhood that unites Cuba and Jamaica.

As part of the activity, the students performed Cuban and Latin American songs and participated in a knowledge encounter in which they demonstrated their Spanish and French language skills.

Kingston, 3 May, 2023. The Second Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica, Rolando Dávila Gallardo, held an exchange with members of the leadership of Young Jamaica, the youth organisation of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), led by its president Rohan Walsh.

Both parties recognised the importance of the role of youth in the transformation of communities and in the social work carried out by the Cuban and Jamaican governments. They also discussed opportunities for cooperation between youth organisations of both nations.
