On March 18, 2024, U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Benjamin Ziff was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Deputy Minister Carlos Fernández de Cossío, who formally conveyed to him the firm rejection of the interference and slanderous messages of the U.S. government and its embassy in Cuba regarding the internal affairs of the Cuban reality.

Monrovia, March 8, 2024- Responding to an invitation extended by the Liberian Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon Gbeme Horace-Kollie, Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera participated in the celebration of International Women's Day under the theme "Investing in Women, Accelerating Progress".
The event provided an opportunity to reflect on progress, advocate for change and recognize exceptional women who have made significant contributions to their communities and nations.
Cuban Head of Mission in Liberia meets with Senior Advisor to the Office of the President on Presidential Affairs.
Monrovia, February 26, 2024. Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera held a meeting with the Senior Advisor to the Office of the President for Presidential Affairs, Dr. Augustine Konneh, at the Cuban Embassy in Liberia.
During the meeting, both parties discussed various issues of bilateral and multilateral interest, and expressed their commitment to work to strengthen relations between the two nations.
African Union adopts resolution rejecting U.S. blockade against Cuba.
For the fifteenth consecutive time, the 37th Assembly of the African Union, composed of African Heads of State and Government, has adopted a resolution condemning the continuation of the illegal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on the Republic of Cuba by the United States of America. On this occasion, the African Union also calls for Cuba to be removed from the unilateral list of countries allegedly supporting terrorism.
