Monrovia, February 15, 2024 - This morning, the Head of the Cuban Mission in Liberia Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera held a fraternal meeting with the official for American Affairs of the Liberian Foreign Ministry Evan Kehn.
Both diplomats exchanged on bilateral and multilateral issues of interest to both parties, and upcoming changes in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the West African country.
Unilateral designation of States as Sponsors of Terrorism negatively impact human rights, warn UN experts.
GENEVA (8 February 2024) – UN experts* today urged the United States to review its domestic framework that triggers specific sanctions against States designated as Sponsors of Terrorism (SST).
Currently four countries – the Republic of Cuba, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPR Korea), the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Syrian Arab Republic – figure on this U.S. Department of State list, with additional restrictions imposed on them because of the designation.

Monrovia, February 5, 2024.- The Executive of the Liberia-Cuba solidarity group paid a visit to the Cuban Embassy in Monrovia where they met with the Chief of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera.
In the exchange it was evidenced that the ties of solidarity and support to the Greater of the Antilles continue to be strengthened as respect to the dignity of our country and that solidarity cannot be blocked.

Martinez Herrera attended the Annual Message ceremony of the President of the Republic of Liberia Joseph Nyuma Boakai to the 2nd Joint Session of the 55th Legislature.

Under the slogan "#ConElMismoFuego", Liberian student Francis Maweah, who is studying medicine in Cuba, led the Anti-Imperialist Friendship Bonfire and Torch March in a night full of young university students, where tribute was paid to the 171st anniversary of the birth of Cuba's National Hero
