Held in Kuala Lumpur Annual General Meeting of Friends of Cuba Association in Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur.- On the occasion of the 129th anniversary of the fall in action of the National Hero of Cuba, José Martí, the Annual General Meeting of the Friends of Cuba Association in Malaysia (FOCA) took place this May 19.
The assembly was conducive to recounting the 15 years of the association, focused on solidarity with Cuba and the bond with the Caribbean Island through culture and mutual respect.
During the meeting, which took place at the Residence of the Cuban Ambassador in Kuala Lumpur, several new members joined the society and its executive committee.

The International Movement for a Just World (JUST), a prestigious organization based in Malaysia, recently highlighted in its newsletter a call made by a U.S. senator to end the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for over 60 years.
An evening dedicated to Cuban Culture took place in Kuala Lumpur
The Cuban Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and the Friends of Cuba Association in Malaysia (FOCA) organized an evening dedicated to Cuban Culture this Friday, May 3.
The event was attended by FOCA members, and a group of ambassadors accredited to Malaysia, as well as figures from the foreign ministry and government of this Southeast Asian country, were also invited.
A meeting with Malaysian doctors who graduated in Cuba took place this May Day
This May Day, International Workers' Day, was special, because at the Residence of the Cuban Ambassador in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian doctors who graduated in Cuba gathered to remember their stay on the Caribbean Island and celebrate their ties with our country.
Ambassador of Cuba participated in the Solidarity Forum of the Socialist Party of Malaysia
The Malaysian Socialist Party (Parti Sosialis Malaysia, PSM) developed this week the Solidarity Forum with the theme Resistance and Liberation in the 21st Century.
The Cuban ambassador to Malaysia, Florentino Batista González, was invited as a speaker at this event, which took place in a hybrid manner (in-person and online).
Florentino Batista spoke about Cultural Colonization, and how the phenomenon of categorizing and labeling certain nations or situations dominates the global discourse of the major media and governments.
