President Miguel Díaz-Canel, meeting with Cubans excluded from the so-called Summit of the Americas, quoted Martí and said: “When a strong nation wants to fight a battle with another, it demands allegiance and service from those nations dependent upon it. The first thing a nation does to dominate another is to separate it from other nations.”

The Revolutionary Government of Cuba issued a statement entitled "Summit of the Americas: Imperialist Domination and Exclusion" in which it denounces that the United States government, abusing the privilege granted by its status as the host country, decided in advance to exclude Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua from the 9th Summit of the Americas, and refused to meet the just demands of numerous governments to change this discriminatory and unacceptable position.
Cuban Ambassador participates in Celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen.
Wellington, June 3. Ambassador Edgardo Valdés attended the celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of New Zealand.
Following a service at St Paul's Cathedral, he attended a reception at Parliament, where he had the opportunity to speak with the Prime Minister, the Right Honorable Jacinda Ardern.

Wellington, June 2. Ambassador Edgardo Valdés met with Katie Andrews, head of promotion and marketing of the Young Professionals Network of the Latin America/New Zealand Business Council (LANZBC/YPN), with whom we have already organized a photo contest on Cuba and the resulting exhibition, which we recently opened.
We agree to systematically exchange information to promote a better understanding of Cuba and YPN activities, and to begin preparations for a trip to Cuba with a tentative date of May 2023.
Cuban Ambassador meets with Mayor of Palmerston North.
Palmerston North, May 26. During his visit to this city, Ambassador Edgardo Valdés met with H.W Grant Smith, Mayor of Palmerston North, with whom he maintains a fluid working relationship.
Both talked about the next Latin American and Spanish Film Festival (LASFF) and the mayor offered his full support for the event, which in this city will be coordinated by the Cuban Embassy.
The Ambassador received honey and other local products as a gift.
Palmerston North is characterized by its cultural diversity and a large presence of Latin American communities.
