Cuba and Niue explore medical cooperation opportunities

Wellington, February 22, 2019. – At a meeting held at the headquarters of the High Commission of Niue in this capital, Cuba's ambassador, Mario Alzugaray, had the opportunity to discuss with his Niuean peer new opportunities for cooperation with that Pacific nation.

Cuba and Niue established diplomatic relations in 2014 and maintain friendly links, reinforced by multiple coincidences on global issues, especially from the priority that both parties attach to environmental protection and to need to confront climate change.

Cuba Photo Contest details on Local Radio

Wellington, January 23rd, 2019. Third Secretary Saimin Fis Abad was invited by the team of Radio Que Onda to share all the information related to the Cuba Photo Contest, that the Embassy of Cuba in New Zealand and Havana Coffee Works have launched, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Cuba and New Zealand.

Cuba Photo Contest!

In 2019 we celebrate 20 years of diplomatic relations with Aotearoa New Zealand.

To commemorate this event, we´ll be partnering with Havana Coffee Works to launch a Cuba Photo Contest and  arrange prizes for the best three photos, providing Cuban art crafts, various delicacies and to host the winner with partner, family or companion of their choice, at our embassy for a Cuban meal and experience with our ambassador and staff at a moment of their convenience during the year 2019.

All entries must be received by February 24th. Best photos will be selected for an exhibition that will take place at Victoria University of Wellington, Faculty of Architecture and Design at the end of March.

Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution in New Zealand

Wellington, December 6, 2018.- Given the proximity of Christmas, end of the year and summer holidays, the Embassy of Cuba in New Zealand decided to advance the celebrations for the 60 anniversary of the Revolution, which was attended by politicians, academics, businessmen, friends of Cuba and members of its community in that country. Present in the event was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Winston Peters.
