Cuban Ambassador takes part in ANZAC Day National Ceremony
Wellington, April 25th, 2019. Cuban Ambassador Mario Alzugaray Rodríguez took part in the National Commemoration Ceremony for ANZAC Day, which was presided by Governor General, Dame Patsy Reddy and Finance Minister Grant Robertson.
This year's commemorations have been marked by the impact of recent terrorist attacks on Christchurch, from which Kiwi leaders have emphasized the messages of unity and effort to reach a more inclusive and kind society.
Cuban Ambassador welcomes High Commissioner of the Cook Islands
Wellington – Cuban Ambassador, Mario Alzugaray welcomed the High Commissioner of the Cook Islands, Her Excellency Elizabeth Wright-Koteka, as part of a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Cuban diplomatic mission.
During the meeting, both diplomats exchanged about bilateral relations and the will of both countries to strengthen them. They also discussed other topics of common interest such as climate change and medical cooperation of Cuba in the Pacific region.
Friendship Society in Wellington values new actions of solidarity with Cuba and against the blockade
Wellington. – As part of her visit to New Zealand, Leima Martínez Freire, director of Asia and Oceania at the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP for its Spanish acronym), convened a meeting with members of the Cuba Friendship Society in Wellington and exchanged on diverse topics, such as Cuban current affairs, its foreign policy and other international matters.
Friendship Society in Auckland confirms solidarity with Cuba
Auckland. -In a meeting held in this city, Leima Martínez Freire, director of Asia and Oceania at the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP for its Spanish acronym), held an intense and valuable exchange with members of the Cuba Friendship Society in Auckland, as part of her visit to New Zealand from April 1 to 3, addressing among other topics the impact of the US embargo, relations between Cuba and the United States, and Cuba's position on the situation in Venezuela.
Cuban diplomats take part in National Remembrance Services to honour the victims of the Christchurch attacks
Wellington.-Cuban Ambassador Mario Alzugaray participated in the National Remembrance Service to honour the victims of Christchurchs terrorist attack on two local mosques.
The event, chaired by Governor General Dame Patsy Reddy and Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, took place in Hagley Park and was attended by the Heads of Mission of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to New Zealand. It Was broadcast simultaneously in several cities where similar events were organized, as in the case of Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin.
