Prime Minister of Salomon Islands praises Cuban cooperation
Wellington, 12 June 2018. In an exchange held with Cuba's Ambassador in New Zealand, Mario Alzugaray, Prime Minister of Solomon Islands, Rick Houenipwela, expressed his gratitude for the cooperation offered by the Caribbean nation to his country.
The exchange took place on the occasion of a presentation made by the Pacific leader at Parliament House in this capital, organized by the New Zealand Institute for International Affairs (NZIIA).
Rick Houenipwela made an official visit to New Zealand, invited by his counterpart Jacinda Ardern.
Cubans present at the NZ-Pacific Salsa Congress
Wellington, June 2nd. The Salsa Congress New Zealand-Pacific 2018, was inaugurated at the Wellington Dance School, widespread for three days of workshops, shows and parties that brought together outstanding dancers and salsa lovers from different countries.
The Salsa Congress featured performances and workshops by Cuban artists Rafael Ferrer, Harold Rancano and Isbert (Vivio) Ramos and constituted a unique space for enjoyment and knowledge of Latin music and dance (Embacuba NZ).
Cuban photographic exhibition in Auckland
Auckland, June 1st. As part of the Auckland Photography Festival 2018, the artist of Mexican origin, Anna-Maria Bribiesca inaugurated in this city the photo exhibition Havana-Cuba.
The exhibition is a diverse combination of images from emblematic places and spaces in Havana. This exhibition will be available until June 24.
Extraordinary show of the Ballet Revolution in Auckland
Auckland, June 1st. With a combination of ballet, contemporary dance, hip hop and salsa, the Cuban dance company Ballet Revolución made a presentation in Auckland on June the 1st and 2nd , under the guidance of the famed Cuban choreographer Roclan González.
The show was an explosive mix of rhythms, dances and Cuban culture in general, where street dancing, daring jumps and elegant movements captured the attention of the public that gathered at The Civic Theater.
The company founded in 2011 has had successful seasons in London, Paris, Berlin, Frankfurt and Vienna.
GRULAC Ambassadors meet NZ Parliament Latin America Friendship Group
Wellington, May 16, 2017. As part of the implementation of the mechanisms of contact with different regions, the Latin America Friendship Group of the New Zealand Parliament held their first meeting with GRULAC ambassadors in Wellington.
The Chairperson of the Group and member of Parliament (N) for Invercargill, Sarah Dowie, informed Latin American diplomats in relation to the interest in fostering greater trade and exchanges with that region. Dowie insisted on her view of great opportunities and express her will to identify the areas with the greatest potential.
