Kingstown, Dec 5 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Monday thanked the lawmakers from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for the aid provided to his country after accidents and natural disasters.
At a special session of Parliament, the Cuban head of State expressed gratitude for the shows of support and the resources shared by this nation, where he has paid an official visit since Saturday.
Diaz-Canel recalled the legacy of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, who was a guide in the path of solidarity with the sister nations of the Caribbean and ratified Cuba’s support for the just claims for historic reparations due to the damages of colonialism and slavery.
At the session, which was organized in his honor, the president said that “there is only one way to face these challenges effectively and successfully: the peoples’ unity and integration.”
For his part, Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves ratified his country’s unwavering condemnation of the United States’ efforts to interfere in Cuba’s internal affairs and condemned Washington’s economic, commercial and financial blockade.
He also condemned the inclusion of Cuba in the unilateral list of countries that sponsor terrorism and said that Kingstown and Havana are working and making progress toward regional integration and the defense of the United Nations Charter.
