Canadian minister reiterates friendship with Cuba

Ottawa – The Ambassador of Cuba, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, held a friendly meeting with the Honorable Steven MacKinnon, Minister of Transport and Leader of the Government in the House of Commons.

During the exchange, the Cuban Ambassador provided an update on the situation in Cuba, which has been exacerbated by the tightening of the U.S. economic blockade, particularly in the energy sector.

Minister MacKinnon reiterated Canada’s historic position of friendship toward the Cuban people.

Dany Tur de la Concepción, Deputy Head of Mission, also participated in the meeting on behalf of the Cuban side.
