Cuban Ambassador to Ireland Meets with Members of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions Leadership
Dublin, March 25, 2026. The Cuban Ambassador to Ireland, Bernardo Guanche Hernández, met this morning with representatives of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) at its headquarters.
Chaired by members of its national leadership, David Joyce and Ann Pigott, the diplomat read a message sent to ICTU by the Cuban Workers' Federation (CTC), expressing gratitude for their solidarity.

Sinn Féin spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire TD, has said the government must match its updated travel advice on Cuba with a clear and unequivocal restatement of Ireland’s long-standing opposition to the United States blockade of the island.
Ireland has repeatedly voted at the United Nations to condemn the embargo as unjust and harmful to ordinary Cuban citizens.
