Monrovia, September 18, 2020- Liberian Senator Conmany B. Wesseh, a figure of great prestige in the national politics of Liberia, visited the Cuban diplomatic headquarters in this country, where he was received by the Chief of Mission, Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera.
Senator Wesseh expressed his satisfaction for visiting our Embassy and his desire to contribute to the increase of the bonds between both countries. He also reiterated his appreciation for the assistance provided by Cuba to Liberia during the Ebola epidemic of 2014.
For her part, the Cuban diplomat thanked the distinguished representative of the Liberian Senate for his visit. She also assured that his presence at the Embassy was an unequivocal expression of the good state of diplomatic relations between both nations and of the solidarity of the African people towards Cuba.
At the end of his visit, the Liberian senator thanked the hospitality offered by the Cuban Embassy and reiterated his unconditional love for the Cuban people.
Senator for River Gee County since 2014, Mr. Conmany B. Wesseh served in his youth as President of the Liberian University Students Association, under whose responsibility he visited Cuba to participate in the 11th World Festival of Youth and Students. He currently chairs the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee
