Cairo, October 6, 2026. The Cuban Embassy in Egypt participated, along with 11 other Latin American and Caribbean countries, in a folk art exhibition held at the Salah Taher Hall of the Cairo Opera House.
The exhibition showcased artistic expressions that reflect the diversity and spirit of Latin American culture, influenced by nature and traditions passed down through generations.

Egyptian newspapers highlighted yesterday the new sanctions imposed on Cuba by the U.S. government, describing them as a further escalation of the U.S. blockade against the island, aimed at tightening the noose around the Cuban government. These sanctions impose additional restrictions on certain financial transactions and on travel by U.S. citizens to Cuba.
The articles note that under these new sanctions, announced by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, indirect financial transactions with sanctioned Cuban entities are prohibited, particularly those linked to security services and GAESA.

Let the colonies disappear, let the exploitation of countries by monopolies disappear, and then humanity will have reached a true stage of progress!”

During a meeting held by Cuban Ambassador Alexander Pellicer Moraga with the top leaders of the Communist Party of Egypt, the Socialist Party of Egypt, the Popular Socialist Alliance, and the Nasserist Party, discussions focused on the difficult situation in Cuba due to the intensification of the blockade, the oil blockade, and the fascist and genocidal policy implemented by the U.S. government against the Cuban people.
