Members of the solidarity movement in Australia expressed their strong rejection of the US blockade against Cuba in response to the latest escalation of the US economic siege
Canberra, 26 February, 2026. In a gesture of firm support for the Cuban people and in clear rejection of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade that the United States has imposed on Cuba for more than six decades, a simple but emotional act of solidarity was held today at the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Australia.
Australian friends participate in the Southern Cross Brigade and prepare for the May Day Brigade
The 41st Southern Cross International Solidarity Brigade took place between December 2025 and January 2026 with great success and renewed commitment. During these weeks, Australian brigade members participated in intensive volunteer work in various parts of the country, exchanged with communities, visited historical, educational, and productive centers, and engaged in activities denouncing the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States.

The Revolutionary Government condemns in the strongest terms the new escalation by the US government against Cuba in its efforts to impose a total blockade on fuel supplies to our country.
The executive order issued by the US President on January 29, 2026, declares a supposed national emergency, under which his government will be able to impose trade tariffs on imports of products from countries that supply oil to Cuba.

Canberra, January 27, 2026. The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba to the Commonwealth of Australia invites the children of Cubans residing in Australia to participate in the contest “Martí and his love for the homeland.”
The contest will be dedicated to the 173rd anniversary of the birth of our National Hero.

Tribute at the Cuban Embassy in Australia to the combatants who fell in defense of Venezuela
Canberra, 14 January, 2026. The United States government perpetrated a criminal military attack against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on 3 January, 2026. During the aggression, the President Nicolás Maduro Moros and his wife, Cilia Flores, were kidnapped. In addition, a group of heroic Cuban and Venezuelan combatants lost their lives.
Today, the Cuban Embassy in Australia hosted a moving tribute to these brave men and women.
