Declaration by South African Association of Graduated in Cuba on the USA Economic Blockade against Cuba

Pretoria, 9 July, 2019.- We the graduates of Cuba constituted mostly by doctors, health sector professionals and other professions such as engineering, economics, the military, education and others, hereby condemn the economic aggressive inhumane sanctions against the peaceful Republic of Cuba which have been rejected by the international community represented by the United Nation as from 1992 every year until this year (2018) in November.

The Ministry of Tourism of Cuba and Turkish Airlines sign a memorandum of understanding.

Havana, July 9, 2019. The Director General of Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba (Mintur), Barbara Cruz, and the Vice President of Sales for The Americas of Turkish Airlines, Mustafa Dogan, signed on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding on the Taganana Room of the National Hotel of Cuba that will allow to strengthen the links in tourism and promote actions of mutual benefit between Cuba and Turkey.

South African Artist expresses Support for Cuba through Music

Eighty-seven New South African Doctors Graduated Thanks to the Fidel- Mandela Program

Pretoria, July 5, 2019. – 87 students of medicine who took their first five years of studies, graduated in the South African province of Western Cape.

The University Walter Sisulu was the venue of the graduation ceremony of these new health professionals graduated under the South African students’ medical training programme in Cuba, initiated in 1997 after the cooperation agreement signed in 1996 between Cuba and South Africa; known as the Fidel-Mandela Programme.

Chargé d'Affaires a.i. holds meeting with Scholarship Director

The Charge d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Cuba in Zimbabwe, Vladimir Guerra, held a meeting on July 4 with the Director of the Department of Scholarships of the Presidential Office, Dr. C. C. Mushohwe. The objective of this meeting was to discuss the status of the agreement between the two governments on the granting of scholarships to young Zimbabweans. During the meeting, the status of the candidates for the scholarships granted this year was investigated, as well as the main subjects of interest to the Zimbabwean government.

Young kiwis representing Cuba at Model United Nations New Zealand visit the Embassy

Wellington, July 4th, 2019. Cuban diplomats received at the Embassy headquarters, Thomas Pope-Kerr and Nicole Ambua, young New Zealanders who will represent Cuba in the Model United Nations New Zealand, an event that counts every year with the participation of more than 200 delegates from all around Aotearoa and in this edition will take place from July 4th to 7th at Victoria University of Wellington.
