U.S. Penalizes Three Companies for Apparently Violating Cuba Blockade.

Washington, June 14, 2019.The U.S. government announced Thursday that the companies Expedia Group, Hotelbeds USA and Cubasphere agreed to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for the apparent violation of the blockade imposed by Washington against Cuba.

According to the Treasury Department, its Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) reached an agreement with Expedia, headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, to pay 325,406 dollars in its own name and in the name of subsidiaries and affiliates around the world.

Miami Commission Seeks to Strike Cultural Exchange with Cuba

Washington, June 13, 2019.The Miami City Commission, has passed on Thursday a resolution to ask the US Congress to veto the Cuban artist recruitments, action against the cultural exchange with Cuba.

According to the document, the federal legislature is urged to enact a law that allows other US states and local governments to ban recruitment of Cuban singers and artists.

The resolution, sponsored by Miami Mayor Francis Suarez and Commissioner Manolo Reyes, also calls on all federal, state and local officials to support the controversial text.

US Coalition Demands the End of Sanctions against Cuba.

Washington, June 13, 2019. In Washington, Metro DC Coalition in Solidarity with Cuban Revolution demanded on Thursday the end of all US sanctions against Cuba, including the new travel restrictions imposed last week.

Through a statement, the solidarity group regretted Donald Trump´s decision to prevent people to people group educational trips and to ban aircrafts and boats to go to Cuba, including cruises.
