Roseau, May 8, 2019. A meeting to discuss issues related to the "Agreement of Cooperation between the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Cuba and the Ministry of Housing and Lands in the Commonwealth of Dominica, for the Constructive Recovery in the Commonwealth of Dominica ", signed on June 14, 2018, was held in the afternoon of yesterday, May 7, 2019, at the seat of the government of this country. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Cuba, Ulises Arranz Fernández and the Head of the Builders Brigade that works in Dominica, Mr. Juan Antuch Suarez. On behalf of Dominica, Ambassador Steve Ferrol, Secretary of Cabinet Prime Minister's Office, was present.

  Havana, May 6 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez ratified today the island''s commitment to the Association of Caribbean States (AEC) by receiving in this capital its General Secretary, June Soomer.

Petroria, May 8, 2019.- Despite the declared intention of the government of the United States to economically suffocate Cuba and only days of the full activation of Title III of the Helms Burton Act, which is what codifies the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade against the Cuban people; there have been events that demonstrate the firm international rejection of these measures. Important partners of the Island have expressed their willingness to continue and strengthen relations with Cuba.

Havana, May 8, 2019. Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said today that US plans against the Caribbean island and the Venezuelan people are perverse and highly interfering.

'Pronouncements by officials of the US Government against Cuba and Venezuela, have the same objective and are part of the perverse, arrogant and interfering Monroe policy of the North', the Head of State wrote in his Twitter account.

'Nations with dignity will defend independence and sovereignty,' he added.

La Habana, May 8, 2019. The U.S. tourist sector remains committed to Cuba as a holiday destination, even as the U.S. government is tightening the blockade against the island. This was stated at a press conference by Michel Bernal Quicutis, commercial director at the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (Mintur), who assured that “We will not give up on reaching the planned 5,100,000 visitors for this 2019.”

The Ambassador of Cuba in Egypt, Tania Aguiar Fernández, held a meeting with the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Dr. Mustafa Waziry, where the possibilities for cooperation in the areas of conservation of heritage, archaeology and training of specialists were explored.

Members of Cuban civil society, intellectuals, journalists, and students gathered on May 3 in Havana, in a public hearing convened by the Association of Cuban Jurists and the Cuban United Nations Association to discuss the activation of the Helms-Burton Act’s Title III, a law that violates the principle of sovereignty, and seeks to destroy our nation and subordinate it to the power of a foreign government.

The photo exhibition "Havana 500 years", by the Cuban photojournalist, Vladimir Molina Espada, inaugurated 20 days ago at the House of Photography in Azerbaijan, has had a good attendance of the Azeri public and foreign visitors who visit the historic center of the country every day.

Shamil Pashdamikov, promoter of the House of Photography, stressed that during Holy Week and the realization in this capital of the Formula 1 competitions increased the number of visitors who observed the beauty of Havana.

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. May 7, 2019. Mr. Zagdjav Deleg, President of Peace and Friendship Organization of Mongolia, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Raúl Delgado Concepción, at the organization's headquarters in the capital of Mongolia in  a cordial work meeting.
