Cuba is elected to the executive boards of three subsidiary bodies of ECOSOC by overwhelming majority.

New York, 8 May 2019. Cuba was elected by overwhelming majority to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Executive Board from 2020 to 2022; to the World Food Program (WFP) Executive Board from 2020 to 2022; and to the Commission for Social Development from 2020 to 2024. The three agencies are subsidiary bodies of the United Nations Economic and Social Council, which is also known by ECOSOC, its English abbreviation.

Indonesian parliamentary delegation will visit Cuba

Jakarta May 9 - The Honorable Mr. Dave Akbarshah Fikarno, Diputy Chairperson  of the Inter Parliamentary Cooperation Committee of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, received Ambassador of Cuba, HE Nirsia Castro Guevara at the headquarters of the legislative body.

Mr. Fikarno heads an Indonesian parliamentary delegation that will visit Cuba soon. During the meeting were discussed some aspects related to the exchange between both parliaments, as well as the interest of strengthening areas of cooperation such as tourism, public health and mining.

SRI LANKA, May 8, 2019. - The Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, signed on behalf of the Cuban people and government, the book of condolences opened at the Embassy of Vietnam for the demise of the former president, Le Duc Anh.

A great friend of Cuba, he visited our country in October 1995 and was received by the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz.

CUBA AMBASSADOR MEETS TO DEAL MATTERS LINKED TO THE COOPERATION AGREEMENT FOR DOMINICA'S CONSTRUCTIVE RECOVERY.

Roseau, May 8, 2019. A meeting to discuss issues related to the "Agreement of Cooperation between the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Cuba and the Ministry of Housing and Lands in the Commonwealth of Dominica, for the Constructive Recovery in the Commonwealth of Dominica ", signed on June 14, 2018, was held in the afternoon of yesterday, May 7, 2019, at the seat of the government of this country. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Cuba, Ulises Arranz Fernández and the Head of the Builders Brigade that works in Dominica, Mr. Juan Antuch Suarez. On behalf of Dominica, Ambassador Steve Ferrol, Secretary of Cabinet Prime Minister's Office, was present.
