The meeting discussed the possibilities of academic cooperation between Cuba and the Athens University in areas of mutual interest, as part of the existing will of closer bilateral ties between Cuba and Greece.

Beirut April 16, 2019. The Cuban Ambassador in Lebanon, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, joined a plenary session of Latin American and Caribbean diplomats that met with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri.

The conversation focused on the general situation of the country of Cedars and the Government's plans to revitalize the national economy.

Tehran, April 16, 2019. The Ambassador of Cuba in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Alexis Bandrich, held a fraternal meeting with the Designated Ambassador in Havana, Rashid Bayat Mokhtari. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Director General for the Americas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hojatollah Soltani, the Director for Central America and the Caribbean Abdolrahim Sadatifar, and the Cuban specialist in the Foreign Ministry, Ahmad Farajpoor.

Wellington – Cuban Ambassador, Mario Alzugaray welcomed the High Commissioner of the Cook Islands, Her Excellency Elizabeth Wright-Koteka, as part of a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Cuban diplomatic mission.

During the meeting, both diplomats exchanged about bilateral relations and the will of both countries to strengthen them. They also discussed other topics of common interest such as climate change and medical cooperation of Cuba in the Pacific region.

Today, April 17, is the anniversary of the launching of the United State’s 1961 military invasion at Playa Girón. (Bay of Pigs) The Cuban people’s resolute response in defense of the Revolution and socialism, within only 72 hours, produced the first military defeat of imperialism in America.

Strangely, the date was chosen by the current U.S. government to announce new aggressive measures against Cuba and to reinforce their implementation of the Monroe Doctrine.

The Revolutionary Government rejects, in the strongest terms possible, the decision to now allow action to be taken in U.S. courts against Cuban and foreign entities, and to aggravate impediments to entering the United States faced by leaders and families of companies that legitimately invest in Cuba, in properties that were nationalized. These are actions established in the Helms-Burton Ac,t which was denounced long ago by the international community, and which the Cuban nation has repudiated since its promulgation and implementation in 1996, with the fundamental goal of imposing colonial tutelage on our country.
