The Cuban team of weights culminates its performance with excellent results in the World Games of the Special Olympics 2019

The Cuban team of weights successfully completed its performance at the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi 2019, after the 2 participating athletes showed their strength, quality and refined technique to obtain a total of 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 1 bronze and 1 fourth place.

The weightlifter Yaritza Parrado won the gold medal in the squat (silver) and silver medals in Deadlift (deadlift) and Bench Press (bank), thus achieving another gold medal in the combined total, for a total of 2 medals of Gold and 2 of Silver.

Governing authority of the religious affairs of Turkey receives the Cuban Ambassador.

Ankara, Turkey, March 19, 2019. The president of DIYANET, the Presidency of Religious Affairs of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Ali Erbas, received the courtesy visit of the Cuban ambassador, Luis Amorós Nuñez, at the headquarters of the state institution rector of religious affairs in the Eurasian country.

Both representatives talked about the economic and cultural relations between the two countries, and agreed on the possibility of extending these links.

Cuba advocates a transparent and democratic General Assembly.

Tourism University of Azerbaijan promotes collaboration with Cuba

The rector of the University of Administration and Tourism of Azerbaijan (ATMU), Ilham Madatov, praised the collaboration between Havana and Baku during a meeting with the ambassador of Cuba in this Caucasian nation, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo.

Madatov expressed the will of his center to promote ties with the island and encourage the preparation of its students through university exchange programs in Cuban institutions.

Cuban Ambassador to Canada Visits Queen’s University

At this prestigious high education center, she was received by Dr. Tom Harris, Interim Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic), with whom she discussed the existing potentials to broaden the academic and research exchanges between Queen´s University and several Cuban universities.

The Cuban Minister of Justice reports in Vienna on the Constitutional Reform process

The intense working program carried out in Austria by the delegation headed by Dr. Oscar Manuel Silvera Martínez, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Cuba, concluded with a meeting with a large audience at the headquarters of "ÖKG", the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association, in which the Minister delivered a presentation on the recent process of Constitutional Reform in Cuba.

Tribute to women held at the Embassy of Cuba in Saint Lucia

A vast group of women, representatives from different sectors of Saint Lucian society made an appointment yesterday Tuesday, March 12th at the Embassy of Cuba in this country, in order to celebrate International Women’s Day. Among the prominent Saint Lucian women present stood out the former Governor General, Dame Pearlette Louisy, the Honorable Minister of Health and Wellness, Senator the Honorable Mary Isaac and Lady Janice Compton, widow of Sir John Compton, who was Prime Minister of Saint Lucia and considered as the father of its independence.

New Ambassador of Cuba presents Letters of Credence to the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States

The Presentation Ceremony for the new Cuban Ambassador took place at the Office of the Organization of the Eastern Caribbean States, located in Saint Lucia; he delivered his Letters of Credence to the Director General, Dr. Didacus Jules, which accredit and confirm him as Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Organization. In his welcome remarks, the top dignitary of the distinguished authority of the Eastern Caribbean gave a warm fraternal welcome to the Cuban diplomat and highlighted the traditional friendly relations with Cuba.
