Rotarians in Wellington shows sympathy for Cuba

Wellington, February 15, 2016. Members of the Rotary Club in Plimmerton and Lower Hutt showed satisfaction at the prospect of expanding their knowledge on Cuba, a geographically distant country that nevertheless shares with New Zealand several common elements, given by their island nation condition.

The opportunity was the result a couple of presentations by Cuban ambassador, Mario Alzugaray, which covered the central elements of the history of his country, as well as the current situation and development prospects of the Caribbean nation.

Ambassador of Cuba to Malaysia welcomes new Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry

Kuala Lumpur, February 15- Cuba's ambassador to Malaysia, Ibete Fernández hosted a working lunch to welcome the new General Secretary of the Chancellery, Dato Ramlan Ibrahim, on behalf of GRULAC.

At the meeting the Secretary General thanked the initiative and offered his collaboration to work closely with the group of Latin American and Caribbean countries to strengthen their country's relations with the region. He also commented on the new work styles that the Malaysian Foreign Ministry will adopt to become an effective ally of the work carried out by the heads of missions.

Director General of ASEAN meets with Cuban ambassador

Kuala Lumpur, February 15- The Cuban Ambassador to Malaysia, Ibete Fernandez, paid a courtesy call to the Director General of the Association of Southeast Asian States (ASEAN), Mr. Samuel Jojie.

During the meeting Mr Jojie explained about the successes and challenges facing the organization as well as the actions that its members are currently carrying out to strengthen it. He also commented on the activities that will be organized to celebrate this year the 50th anniversary of its establishment.

Chargé d'Affaires of Cuba received at the headquarters of the Unity Party of Liberia.

In order to pay a courtesy call, Cuban mission chief, Yordenis Despaigne Vera, was received at the headquarters of the ruling party of that country, Unity Party, by several official of this organization. The Liberian delegation was headed by Mr. Eugene Lenn Nagbe, current Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Liberia and secretary general of UP, accompanied by Isaac F. Mannah, national vice chairman for government relations, among other leaders of the organization. The Chargé d'Affaires was accompanied by the Second Secretary Carmen Maury.
