US BLOCKADE PREVENTS MEDICAL SUPPLIES TO CUBA AMIDST COVID-19
The Humanistic Solidarity Association (Saint Lucia - Cuba) wishes to express its continuing deep solidarity with the Government and People of Cuba, on the occasion of the recent inhuman and undemocratic actions by the Government of the United States of America, amidst the struggle by the international community of nations, faced with the COVID-19 pandemic.
St Lucia Government welcomes Cuban medical team.
Prime Minister Honourable Allen Chastanet has expressed immense thanks to the Government and People of Cuba as 113 Cuban medical professionals arrived in Saint Lucia to lend support to Saint Lucia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the health system amid the COVID-19 pandemic. “We know that every country in the world is facing their own challenges at this time including Cuba and we are so very thankful for this immense show of brotherhood from this longstanding friend of Saint Lucia,” said PM Chastanet.
Medical Brigade from Cuba arrives in Saint Lucia
More than one hundred health professionals, members of the Henry Reeve Brigades arrived today in Saint Lucia, in response to the call from this sister country for support in their work against the Coronavirus Pandemic. The Brigade was received by Hon. Sarah Flood-Beaubrun, Minister for External Affairs; Sen. The Hon. Mary Isaac, Minister for Health and Hon. Bradley Felix, Minister for Commerce; together with the Cuban Ambassador in this country Alejandro Simancas.
Cuban Cooperation is reinforced in the community of Soufriere
The district of Soufriere, located on the western coast of Saint Lucia, has continued to reinforce its relations with Cuba, as demonstrated during the visit of Ambassador Alejandro Simancas and the meeting held with its Mayor, Pius Gangardine. The meeting, which was held at the Constituency Council Office, highlighted the ties of solidarity and cooperation that unite the two countries. At the same meeting, there were explanations given about the work being carried out in the community by a group of Cuban medical specialists, whose presence and work was appreciated by th
